Brain Turner

I heard poet and Iraq War veteran Brain Turner read from Here, Bullet at Bookshop Santa Cruz a couple of weeks ago, and was blown away not only by the unexpected quality of his poems, but also by his personality. He is a very good reader, natural, convincing. You don't have to take my word for it, check out the brand new Poetry Santa Cruz Video Archive, and judge for yourself. Should your "High Speed" connection not be up to speed (mine apparently isn't), you can also listen to a KUSP Podcast of Dennis Morton interviewing Brian Turner on "The Poetry Show" (Sundays, 9pm - 10pm, KUSP 88.9, Central Coast Public Radio). If you have the opportunity to attend one of Brian Turner's readings, though, I would highly recommend you see him live & in person. I was impressed.
